About Lori

A nurturer by nature, Lori enjoys caring for people of all ages and she has created a balance of work with her passions. Having always been drawn to industries that focus on personal relationships with clients, Lori began her career in cosmetology and has been licensed as a cosmetologist for 40 years; 34 of those years were spent as a salon owner. 

While raising her two children, Lori and her family lived on a 5 acre exotic fruit tree farm with farm animals, dogs, cats and vegetables growing everywhere. Additionally, she was an elder care provider and an end-of-life doula during this time as well. Being a homeschool mom, Lori’s personal time and attention was directed to the kids' growth and activities to grow up and out of the house successfully. Once her two children were grown, her attention was redirected to a new line of work that combined all of her strengths: sincere love and care for others, passion for life and a deep desire to advocate for those who need it. 

Lori then extended her education and fulfilled her requirements to become a certified birth worker. Now that she is a full-time birth doula, midwife assistant and birth educator, Lori’s life is centered around being on call supporting families, local midwives, nurses, and obstetricians  during this miraculous time of life. She has a big passion for birth work and continues to grow and learn as much as she can to bring excellent and well informed care to all the people that she supports. Lori finds great fulfillment in creating connection and community for the families that she works with. In her free time, she enjoys meditating, exercising, dancing, visiting with family, walking in the woods and most of all surfing in the ocean - her favorite place.
